Jeremiah 29
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
For I know the Plans I have for you…..
Jeremiah 29 is a letter written to the Jewish exiles in Babylon assuring them that after seventy years God would fulfill His promise to come to them and graciously bring them back to Jerusalem. God called Israel a stiff-necked people ten times in the scriptures. Each time He delivered them, they turned from Him to worship idols. This time God delivered them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, who brought them to Babylon for seventy years. During the exile He said: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord (God hears the prayers of a repentant heart.), “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
In Jeremiah 29:11-14, God is reassuring us of His love and His desire to forgive us and it speaks of His plans of peace and hope. It is always God’s plan to prosper those who love Him. In Deuteronomy 8:18, God says that it’s through His power we gain wealth. In 3 John 2, the Holy Spirit says, “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers” (NKJV). In John 10:10 Jesus tells us that He wants us to enjoy life abundantly. The cost is simply that we have faith in Him for our salvation and that we obey His word. That’s it.
Hello!
I am a singles ministry leader and once a week we meet for a small group. For the last 3 weeks we have what Francisco(my co-leader) and I call the “J”series. And this week, the name of the teaching is JUSTICE and I am focusing on The plight of Jeremiah.
Today I was at the airport in Miami, I work for a consulate and I was with the Ambassador at the gate, at their departure I was walking towards the exit of the terminal and I saw a blue book with the words plans to prosper you and it caught my attention, as I walked away from that stand, the spirit called me back and I bought the book. I have not read it, but I believe this is what we have been looking for to discuss during our small group.
Thank you for being obedient to your calling and thank you for all the hard times it cost you, thank you for the family time that you sacrifice, thank you for the tears you shed in the proces of growing.
Thank you for thinking of those who’s faces you have not seen.
God bless you and your family abundantly.
Tomorrow we meet with our group and we will pray for you, for your contineous prosperity and growth in the Lord!
God bless!
Julieta
